Accessible and Qualified Use of Available Digital Resources about Aquatic World In National Gatherings

AQUARING addresses the very relevant sector of aquatic sciences and the vast amount of cultural/scientific digital content available from science centres, natural history museums and aquariums in Europe.

These centres and their knowledge bases represent a major scientific and cultural asset in Europe, with very significant educational, societal and economic impacts on European citizens. They play a strategic role in building the knowledge base of tomorrow’s society: favouring the communication and dialogue between science and the people, promoting science and knowledge, increasing awareness of problems and understanding of science, influencing positive career choices in science and technology.

Particularly, in the broad field of natural sciences and Science Centres, AQUARING will look at the very relevant cultural heritage of digital content on aquatic environment and resources available from major European organisations, with a particular emphasis on the relevant themes of environment preservation and sustainable management. The main theme is "water". Marine and freshwater systems, including surface waters and groundwater, are the European's water resources, providing drinking water, sustenance, income, transportation routes and other such issues to the majority of the European population.
